A R T I S T S T A T E M E N T :

I’m Jessica Kinsella, an abstract painter based in Southern California. My work is inspired by color, texture, nature, and emotion. Painting is how I explore what can’t always be put into words, letting feelings and experiences unfold naturally on the canvas.

My process is intuitive and layered, using acrylic and mixed media on canvas or wood. I usually start without a plan, following what feels right until a piece feels complete. Over time, painting has become more than just creative expression. It’s a way to process emotion, reconnect with myself, and find a sense of calm in the everyday. I am certified in therapeutic art, which continues to shape how I think about the connection between creativity and emotional well-being.

While abstract, my work is rooted in real experiences and a desire for balance and peace. I’m drawn to gentle transitions, hidden layers, and quiet strength. Through each painting, I hope to offer something reflective, a soft place to pause and breathe.
